Hello all!
I (Jonas Ohlsson) was asked by Lost Property to give a small talk about drawing.
Tomorrow (Thursday Feb 16, 2012) starting at 19.00.
I will talk about intuition as a greater ocean of knowledge than logic and how to access it.
Language and speech as a dominant, sometimes corrupting force in how we perceive the world and how you via drawing (for instance) can access various non verbal realities...
I will talk about some writers that have helped me in my thinking and I will show some examples of my own drawings and talk you thru their proccesses of how they came to be...and why??!!!
Also a bit about football (Lionel Messi and Zinedine Zidane specifically) as another example of creatively inspired bodily intelligence.
I will talk briefly about ideas surrounding theory vs practice, "could you become a great lover/fucker by just reading the Kama Sutra?"
Also a bit about ideas surrounding standardisation...AND more...
We might also do a little drawing workshop afterwards, also music and good beer....WELCOME!!!!!

FATFORM 2011
FATFORM is an artproject that challenges the idea of a traditional platform at the same time as it uses its basic functionality. Local and international artists meet, exchange, exhibit
and perform together for 10 days at one of the best underground locations in Amsterdam: The rooftop of the Kraaiennest Shopping Centre in Amsterdam-Zuidoost. With an experimental cross programming different audiences are attracted from various fields such as contemporaryart, hip hop, biology, new media, performance, painting, debating and noize and are encouraged (or basically forced) to at least have a peek at the other.
We see this project as an experiment to find a form that is open enough to have space for our diverse and often non-compatible networks. It is important for us to not try to minimize these incompatibilities but rather we would like to propose a form
that is FAT enough to contain all radicals.

Robert Dupic is the new AIR at FLATstation. So FATFORM had a nice party
at FLATstation Florijn with Sensirity Sound feat.

Moritz Ebinger’s second exhibition as Nieuwe Vide’s curator for the year 2011 focuses on Ateliers ’89, an institute for contemporary art and design on the island of Aruba. “Mas o menos Aruba y dibujos”, which literally translates as “more or less Aruba and drawing”, springs from Ebinger’s guest lectureship at Ateliers ’89 in 2010. Communally made drawings by his students form the heart of the exhibition. Many lecturers and former guest lecturers share in as well.
Ateliers ’89’s workshop and exhibition programme brings young Dutch-Caribbean artists into contact with current developments in the arts. In recent years this has led to many cultural exchanges: Dutch artists have contributed to the curriculum through residencies and talented Caribbean artists have been given the opportunity to further their studies at art academies in The Netherlands.
On 8 May, the last day of the exhibition, another BUZZ!! will take place, with lectures, tours and performances. Keep an eye on our website for the programme.
In the exhibition space you can also see the ongoing project “Zwaan Kleef Aan”. Throughout 2011 various artists will add to this ever-expanding wall drawing. So far Suzanne Drummen, Moritz Ebinger, Marissa Evers, het Harde Potlood, Femke van Heerikhuizen, Karla Hoeben, David K.C. Moir, Serge Onnen, Jacobien de Rooij and Annemarie van Sprang have contributed.
Nieuwe Vide is kindly supported by the municipality of Haarlem. The programme of Ateliers ’89 has been made possible by the Regeling KulurA of the Mondriaanstichting.
